We’re excited to announce that we’ve decided to pilot Ollama, an AI-powered moderation tool, on our upcoming myBB forum! For those who may not be familiar, myBB is a popular open-source forum software used by communities of all sizes to discuss various topics and connect with one another. It’s widely regarded as one of the most user-friendly and customizable forum platforms available.
With Ollama integrated into our forum, we’ll be testing its capabilities in automating some of the more mundane tasks that moderators typically handle on a day-to-day basis. These tasks currently include things like email notifications for new posts, user warnings, and basic content filtering. We’re eager to see how well Ollama can streamline these processes and free up our human moderators to focus on more high-level tasks.
By implementing Ollama as a moderator, we’ll be able to monitor the forum’s activity and identify potential issues before they escalate. The AI-powered tool will also provide us with valuable insights into user behavior and content trends, helping us refine our moderation strategies over time.
Of course, it’s worth noting that human moderators will still be involved in moderating our forum, especially for critical or sensitive topics. Ollama is designed to augment, not replace, the work of our human team members. By testing this new tool in a controlled environment, we’ll be able to assess its effectiveness and identify areas where it can be improved.
