Introducing My CloudFlare “Clone” Service: A Tailored Solution for Web Management
I’m excited to share a project I’ve been working on—a CloudFlare “clone” service that mirrors most of CloudFlare‘s powerful features, with a few modifications to suit my specific needs. While I don’t have the massive infrastructure or server capacity of CloudFlare, I’ve implemented a solution that integrates seamlessly with CloudFlare’s CDN and Edge Cache services, offering the best of both worlds.
Improved DNS Management
One area where I found room for improvement was the name server manager. CloudFlare‘s web-based interface, though functional, can be cumbersome when managing multiple records, such as removing entries or changing IP addresses. While their API services are excellent and I use them frequently, I’ve designed my web-based manager to be faster and more user-friendly, making bulk operations simple and intuitive.
A Powerful RestAPI
To enhance flexibility and enable automation, I’ve implemented a RestAPI service as part of the platform. While it doesn’t yet support all the features currently available, I’m actively working on expanding its capabilities. It won’t be long before the RestAPI fully supports every service the platform offers, making it even easier for developers to integrate and utilize the system programmatically.
Solving a Security Surprise
Not long ago, I faced an unexpected issue: one of my domain names was flagged for hosting spam services. This was a complete surprise, as I’d never installed or used such services. After thorough investigation and effort, the issue is now resolved, adding another layer of reassurance to my system’s reliability.
Ready to Grow
Currently, the service provides all the features I need for smooth web management, with plans to expand as new requirements emerge. Over the coming days, I’ll continue to enhance functionality, adding services that align with my evolving goals.
WordPress Integration
To make this service even more accessible, I’ve developed a WordPress plugin. This allows seamless integration with my blogs and websites, enabling easy access to the services directly from WordPress.
This project reflects my commitment to creating a tailored, efficient, and user-friendly alternative to meet my needs while still leveraging the best aspects of CloudFlare’s technology.
Expanding Functionality with a RestAPI
To provide even greater flexibility and automation, I’ve integrated a RestAPI service into the platform. While it doesn’t yet support every feature available, it already covers several key functionalities, and I’m actively working on finalizing it. Once complete, the RestAPI will offer full access to all the platform’s services, making it easier for developers and users to programmatically interact with the system. This addition is a significant step toward creating a comprehensive and adaptable solution that meets a wide range of needs.
