I’m excited to announce that I’ve just completed a series of scripts designed to automate and simplify a variety of tasks on BlueSky. These scripts not only make account management more efficient but also help enhance engagement, grow your network, and create better content experiences. Here’s a closer look at what each script does:
1. Follow Back Your Followers: Maintaining a balanced network is important. This script ensures that anyone who follows you gets an automatic follow-back, making it easy to reciprocate and build strong connections.
2. Follow Suggested Users: BlueSky suggests users who might be relevant to your interests or niche. Instead of manually following each one, this script automatically connects you to all suggested users, helping you expand your network effortlessly.
3. Thank Your Followers: Engagement starts with gratitude. This script sends a personalized message to new followers, thanking them for connecting with you. It’s a simple yet powerful way to show appreciation and start meaningful conversations.
4. Cross-Platform Auto-Follow: Have you ever wondered if your Twitter/X contacts are on BlueSky? This script checks for matching accounts on BlueSky and automatically follows them, ensuring you stay connected with people you already know.
5. RSS Feed Statistics: For content creators and bloggers, this script integrates with Matomo (formerly Piwik) to generate RSS feeds enriched with detailed article performance statistics, like views and clicks. This helps you understand how your content is performing at a glance.
6. Unfollow Non-Followers: Keeping your following list relevant can be time-consuming. This script automatically identifies and unfollows users who don’t follow you back, helping you maintain a clean and engaged network.
7. Post to BlueSky Accounts: Whether you manage one account or several, this script allows you to publish updates, announcements, or content to single or multiple BlueSky accounts simultaneously. It’s a time-saver for anyone juggling multiple profiles.
8. RSS-to-Post Automation: Want to share articles or blog posts directly from an RSS feed? This script does the heavy lifting, automatically creating posts with article links and summaries, saving you from manual posting.
9. Create Enhanced Post Images: BlueSky has limitations on text fields in posts, but this script generates images with larger text blocks that can be shared as part of your posts. It’s perfect for sharing long quotes, announcements, or detailed content.
10. Activity-Based Notifications: Stay informed about what’s happening on your account. This script monitors activity on your BlueSky profile and sends you updates via email, notifications, or other methods, so you never miss important events.
Currently, these functions are working as standalone scripts and are not publicly available yet. However, within a few days, all these options will be fully integrated into the web-based ‘Social Media Manager’, which will be accessible at my.SmartDeploy.App.
